The idea of Envoyproductions Created by Sono-Kinetic in the suburbs of East London, a small city on the coast in the Eastern Cape. SKILL managed to create an distribute a house album with partnered assistance from Silas. These two made the collab permanent with the idea of combining talent with grit through fusion. Envoy has managed to attain notice in East London and release Tap-root's 1st album, Vision produced by Skill and Electric, the 3rd Envoy member. Electric had done alot of previous work with Dope, a school mate and the youngest Envoy beatmaker. A few months later, then accompanied by RythMIC Styles, the same age as Dope. Envoy continues to develop their footing in the industry based in East london with SKILL, Electric, Dope and RythMIC Stylez, and in Cape Town with Silas.

Why this name?

In the infancy of Envoy, Skill decided on the name Envoy, which means representative. Envoy is all about representing South Africa and ILL City (East London).

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

its Made a great deal as its eliminated the sole method of popularity determination, record sales. In earlier year it was difficult to say who the best in this industry were as not everyone had a mode to influence sales. internet brings 'downloads', 'plays' and other aspects into the picture.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Probably not unless the stipulations were excellent, so great that we would dissolve the Envoy movement entirely.

The idea of Envoyproductions Created by Sono-Kinetic ILL, a locally known beat-making king, in the suburbs of East London, a small city on the coast in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. SKill managed to create an distribute a house album with partnered assistance from Silas, prodigy to a musical genius. These two made the collaboration permanent with the idea of combining talent with grit through fusion. In mid 2007, Silas productions dissolved itself into Envoy productions. Envoy has managed to attain local notice not to mention "Vision", the Tap-root album produced by SKILL and Electric, a close friend of Envoy. Envoy continue to develop their footing in the industry as they consider setting up a post in Cape Town in the western cape in 2008.

The awaited arrival of Dope and Electric was music to envoy's ears. This opened up the gateway for them creatively and started a new era in the life of envoy. Ensure nothing but hits and unleashed creativity.

Your influences?

our inspiration comes from the freedom of music. being able to manipulate sounds the way we desire to create the music we desire. each of us brings a different element to the table. Electric is a testiment to old skool as he brings a consistent raw hip hop element,SKILL is a schooled experimental beatmaking genius, Silas is a unschooled experimental beat revolutionist and Dope, the youngest of the group is a prodigy of a musical shakespeare.
