Hi, Kim Williams from Kansas City, Mo currently living near Dallas and writing up a storm. I've been on stage all throught the 80's and 90's but now an occasional "one man band" show keeps me cookin'...creatively I feel warmer than ever and spend every spare minute writing that "hit" song!
Why this name?
never thought to change my name, although I believe there's another writer with the same name. I'm from Kansas City, though.
Do you play live?
On occasion, private parties and small venues. I did it quite often in Las Vegas and had memorable New Years eves shows!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The music execs are still trying to tell you what you're gonna love and what the new trend is gonna be... it's just that now, we the people have an alternative and another well to drink from. The independant artist can actually now be heard regularly. in a computer near you!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
with my music lawyer at my side!
Your influences?
The Beatles!! Oasis, Fountains of Wayne, Jet, The Rembrandts, Sheryl Crow, old motown r&b, and Def Leppard.. quite a collection
Favorite spot?
Kansas City, my home
Equipment used:
roland 1680 DAW, takamine and alvarez acoustics and paul reed smith electric guitars, reason 1.0 on I-book and alesis qs 6.1 keys, line 6 pod pro effects, and DBS pre-amp.
Anything else...?
Hi to anyone I've ever worked with in the past and hope you've all found good luck and good music in your lives.
