Serpentine formed in the North east coast of Scotland in 2002 and we decided, in a magical flash of innovation, to become one of our country's few doomy metal bands.
Hopefully our style of music will appeal to you!
Hopefully our style of music will appeal to you!
Why this name?
The word Serpentine means "snakelike or twisted", much like us. Ah-hem.
Do you play live?
We have yet to play live, because sadly we are not in possession of a real flesh 'n' bone drummer, but we're sure it'll be great when we finally do.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives you great access to bands you wouldn't normally hear about offline... you're able to hear what a band sounds like without blindly purchasing a CD.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably, but it would depend on the terms and conditions presented.
Band History:
Originally intended as a sort of side-project for the members of Kick The Raven (Arron Mcintyre and Simon Brown), Serpentine has evolved into something more than a mere side-project. The first demo, "Autumnal Elegy", is just a rough indication of what they're hoping to achieve.
After a 3 year hiatus, Serpentine have begun writing again, hoping to release either another demo or a full length album before the end of 2006.

Your influences?
We are usually influenced by mostly every band we like to listen to. Serpentine sounds like a very odd mix between Opeth, My Dying Bride, early Paradise Lost and some Anathema.
Favorite spot?
Right here, in good old boring Scotland!
Equipment used:
Arron uses a Washburn WR150 with Rotosound Strings, and a Digitech RP50 effects pedal.
Anything else...?
Thanks to anyone who has ever put up with us, and to those who give us their support!
