John Doe's Evil Twin is not a band, per se. It is me. It is definitely not a party band. The music is best described as half-ass art rock, but probably not even that. I do the recording of all instruments and vocals plus all mixing and such post-production in a 3'x3' space.
Why this name?
I am neither evil nor a twin. Who the hell knows?
Do you play live?
Except for extremely rare circumstances, I never play live. I rarely ever play through any of the songs after they're recorded.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
People like me can be entirely too self-indulgent.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nice.
Band History:
I've been writing and recording music in different styles and project incarnations since 1989. Nothing has ever come of it, save some classical performances during college.
Your influences?
rush, fleetwood mac, pink floyd, stevie wonder, steely dan, genesis, alice in chains, csn, soundgarden, celesteville, the minor thirds, and several others.
Favorite spot?
the oregon coast, the central oregon high desert, and I'm especially fascinated with Wyoming.
Equipment used:
I use cheap equipment because I'm cheap, broke, and laden with children.
Anything else...?
maybe at some point.
