Mission: The vision of Nine Lashes is to evangelize thru music and testimony and to minister to the body of Christ. They prefer to think of the stages they play on as an altar where souls can be saved and lives changed thru the working of the Holy Spirit. The band's name "Nine Lashes" came from the term "Cat of Nine Tails" an instrument commonly thought to have been used on Christ before his crucifiction. Their mission is to spread the Good News of the Cross of Christ through Isaiah 53. Nine Lashes came together in 2006.The band consists of two founding Members ; Keith Cunningham(Drummer) and Adam Jefferson(Guitar). They had both been a part of another band for several years. The other members Jeremy Dunn(Lead Singer),Jonathan Jefferson(Guitar),and Jared Lankford (Bass) all came together to form the group with Jeremy joining in 2007.The sound is simply rock with inspirational lyrics that every believer can identify with, and find hope and encouragement. Their desire is to create music that will leave their listeners inspired, encouraged, and challenged to live for Christ in a deeper way. Look for good things to come from Nine Lashes as they are on the road working to bring the gospel. Accomplishments; The band opened for Day Of Fire in early 2007 at Life church in Trussville, Alabama. The guys were interviewed at WDJC before the show. They have worked extensively with Teen Challenge. They have played for many churches, venues, and outdoor concerts in the last year. They are currently working with award-winning producer Barry Blair on their demo cd.If you would like Nine lashes to play for your church, youth Rally or venue contact Steve Isabell AKA "Float" at 205-796-4013
