Politicians aren’t the People I meet exhibits yet another slight change in Devine Lies ever emerging style and is probably their most accessible and lyrical to date. A mixture of songs about diverse topics ranging from scathing Political Comment to plaintive love (or perhaps lust!), Politicians aren’t the People I meet really is an album to listen and enjoy.
Who could not agree with the words and sentiment of the title track, Politicians aren’t the People I meet. Sharp comment indeed, as indeed is Save it for Yourself. These gems rub shoulders with tracks such as I Want You, a song about lust, pure and simple.
