The name came about purely by accident more than design. I was keen to have something with the 'candy' therein and Vince, out of the blue several hours later whilst we were jamming said: 'tree'. Pardon? said I and then the penny dropped. Et le voila...

candytree are a mosaic of influences; from the whitesands to the tenements. Valentines day 2008, that's where it started, and now, to here, in noir-pop streams. We are ageless! East London vibrates to the sound of 'candy'; from the 'skinnycandy' to the 'sirencandy' and candies in-between. We are five (in a 'Family Guy' kinda way you understand). We bring you beauty and filth, melodic graffiti and a cathode rain in which to immerse yourself. (Pause. Rewind. Play. Oscillate. Pause. Rewind. Play, Oscillate). Alright; cry, laugh, f***, kiss, dance and be beautiful (and do it over..) then. That's what we've always done! Verbena drenched choruses in waterfalls and guitars splitting velcro. That's what we've always done! By way of conversation: Bikini? "nono!" Earkini? "si si!". (sorta flows doncha think). Where karma and the karma crash entwine is where you will hear us. We are, and continue to support, stardust valentines! Down sonic tonics together. (after three....Pause. Refill. Play. Intoxicate. Pause. Refill. Play. Inebriate).

You don't really need to know where we've been (check 'past shows' - tip of Vesuvius anyhoo) but where we are going, surely; who we are (check 'band members' and yada yada yada) but who we become, surely. Our experience? It's a Hubble bubbleride we've been on - we ARE on - so, just listen, and JOIN IN donchawanna?! We're about our perception of where we are and who we are. (That evolves, anywhathoo).
