My Biography
Category: Life
Name at birth: Dionte L. Politte
Nickname: "The Kover Boy" It's Kooo-V-Baby
Dionte' Lemoine Politte was born 4 December 1978 in New Iberia LA, USA. While growing up in a rural community, Dionte' started rhyming poetry from his reading text in the late 80's with dreams of attaining a shot at super stardom. During that era he was constantly tracking his vocals with two cassette recorders in hopes of gaining acceptance from his fellow peers. Unfortunatey, he made an unsuccessful attempt to form his expression which led a young ambitious boy to give up his long awaited dream in the latter year of 1989. Due to the massive setbacks and negativity posed by onlookers Young Kover continued a 7 year hiatus juggling Education & Sports with minimal focus on his one love (music). Upon entering High School, Kov was dazed and confused about his professional career which led him to reminisce about the very night he threw his mic in the locker. After gaining a second wind in 1997, Young Kover stayed focused on his studies as well as music which led him to graduate with a mindset that it was "do or die" time. Shortly thereafter he found himself working an odd end job for approximately 10 months to make ends meet, but most importantly gain financial stability for his highly anticipated Freshman year in a respected University. In the Fall semester (1998), Young Kover met a producer which shared similiar goals and life experiences from which they embellished to create an original art form that was "somewhat epic" from what Young Kover calls it in that point of his life. He continued to put College Algebra on the back burner in hopes to find his true identity as a writer and artist. During one of the most critically acclaimed parties to end his lackluster semester, Young Kover met a New Orleans based artist by the name of "Greedy" from which they acquainted and scheduled a studio session. After tedious hours of concocting a winning formula for the project, "Greedy" & "Young Kover" created an instant smash by the name of "Screen Zone" which caught the ears of DJ Hide-a-Way who was one of the most elite DJ's to hit the air waves in urban music ( 2001). Screen Zone quickly climbed to the number 1 spot on the top 8 at 8:00pm from which it remained consistently for 2 weeks. This was a phenonimal experience for Young Kover which caused his burning passion towards music to reach an all time high. After the success of "Screen Zone" Young Kover's protege's as well as long term friends began to drift apart in search of their own musical endeavors, which led the hungry artist by the name of Young Kover to work solo for 3 years until he graduated from Northwestern State University in Spring 2004. Presently, Young Kover continues to break out of his shell by finding out who he is as an artist and delivering it consistently to his potential "Karpet" fans.

Why this name?
Young Kover is actually short for Kover Boy. I recieved the name a few years back while in college... I was told by many that I have a swagger about myself that made me look likeone of your "STARS"
Do you play live?
Yes... When you walk up on the stage you hear the crowd screaming at the top of their lungs. It's crazy..... They also recite the songs word for word...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Music Industry has evolved a great deal than compared to the past. Now everything is going into the digital realm which give the underground artist total creative control of their projects as well as promotions. I think this is a big plus for every artist worldwide. The only problem that still remains is the fact that CD sales are declining each year.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Honestly speaking I feel as though there is nothing in the world like Independence and freedom.. With an Indie you literally own 100% of profits where as with a major you are the last to enjoy the fruits of your labor... The only way I would sign is if the contract was favoring myself more than the label
