Sugar Lime Blue is a band that will take a risk to bring their listeners on a ride. Jamming through an impressive original repetoire with lyrically rich songs you never know what original or cover is coming up next. The set moves up and down through a range of emotions, each night unique to itself!
Why this name?
We wanted something different, unique and eclectic, as well as memorable. S.L.B. seemed to fit the bill.
Do you play live?
We play live at every opportunity. We love creating moments on stage and seeing what happens when we all get in the same room together with a bunch of people.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The .mp3 has given the ability to the fan to instantly purchase songs from there home and preview tracks before buying them. The single is what launched the music industry and I find it interesting that people seem to think that now returning to singles is going to kill it. There will always be the need for great music, both great singles and albums.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Under the right circumstances I think any band that says they wouldn't is lying.
Your influences?
We draw from a lot of influences. When we perform you may here covers ranging from Al Green, to Gov't Mule with some Otis Redding, Bill Withers, John Prine, Sheryl Crow and Gratefule Dead in between.
