ASK October 1985 - 1995 (ish)

A.S.K was a band dedicated to forwarding the Kingdom of God. The name, comprising of Andy, Steve, and Ken's initials was originally decided upon and also conveyed a little of the evangelistic heart of the band in the desire for people, not only listen to the words of the songs, but to ask about them.

We started as a three piece band and was joined by Jane after a few years with each of us bringing our own gifting, experiences, and influences. Individuals in the band are influenced by a diverse range of artists such as: Iona, Delirious; Keith Green; Blues Brothers; Runrig and Chopin! making for a unique mix of musical styles. We were (and still are) committed to musical excellence as typified by artists such as Iona who were a major influence to us at the time.

The band started well, and we quickly gelled. We played a couple of gigs in a local pub in support of a local outreach, and were also invited to play at the Kingston christian music festival for a couple of years. We also played at the Barn in Dorset. We often played as part of the worship team in our church and often adapted when a barn dance band was required!

As ASK we started to drift apart, as we got families and better jobs. Now, we remain in contact, but Andy is now in New Zealand, and Steve has move up to the midlands.

I've put this site together as a thankyou to all those people who supported us over the years -especially Nessa where ever she may be. God Bless you all ... and thanks.
