We are GODSPEL!!! We are something different and exciting for your ears. We are not just any metal band. We stand out and have a message. Want to know more? Just listen.
Why this name?
I got the name off of a National Geographic special on tv. It was the direct translation for the word where we get "gospel".
Do you play live?
Of course we play live. We love it!! We have been mainly hitting the San Antonio, Tx. area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it makes music more accessible to the fans. It is also great for indie bands to get their music out to the masses.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, if the terms were agreeable with all.
Band History:
Godspel is like something never heard before. They bring heavy metal with a message. The message is a positive one that reflects their belief in God. However, Godspel does not ram the gospel down people's throats. They believe in letting the music speak for itself. If you love the sound and want to know more then you will seek on your own. Godspel is composed of the heavy rhythm riffs and vocal stylings of Rob "Robzilla" Trevino, and the thunderous bass talents of Melissa Trevino, followed by the strong and chest pounding drumming prowess of Luis "Chacho" Gonzalez. Godspel just recently found a new lead guitarist and things are about to get heavier. Now complete this metal juggernaut will continue to bring the brutality it has in the past. You haven't seen anything yet!!!!
Your influences?
Heavy metal from the 80's like Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, we also like newer bands like Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, etc.
Favorite spot?
San Antonio, Texas
Equipment used:
We use Marshall amps, Dean "Dimebag" guitars, Jackson guitars, Gibson guitars, Ibanez guitars, Ampeg bass amp, Pearl drums, Zildjian cymbals
