Jerry McLeer is a songwriter/guitarist living in the great desert Southwest. His songs are often topical, with liberal use of irony and humor.
Why this name?
My Mum and Dad gave it to me.
Do you play live?
Not since last century.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Provides a forum for real artists.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, I prefer to remain in poverty.
Band History:
Jerry has been in many memorable bands, but unfortunately, he doesn't remember any of them. He formed his first band in the mid-sixties (which explains a lot), and played mostly in the NYC area. In the seventies, he attended college in Indiana (well, he enrolled but in reality he rarely attended). It was there where he started writing his own songs, and with his truant friends, formed the cutting edge band Fertile Rain. When the other members of the band were tragically killed by outraged Pat Boone fans, Jerry decided to go solo. For the past 30 years, he has been working on his demo. He has now completed seven songs, and estimates that he will complete the project by June 2009.
