Why this name?
I write many songs in third person, and switch between multiple perspectives in song. I speak to myself while singing, and write letters to myself. Dear Nathan,
Do you play live?
I have played a few small functions, I am eagerly seeking a band to start playing out more regularly
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Ha! well now it's entirely responsible for exposing me to the very depths of musical obscurity and as of now it is my only means of being heard
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
indubitably, as long as mtv doesn't make me their poster child and I retain creative control...yeah right :p
Band History:
Been playing guitar and tooling around with some guitar playing fellows for years, nothing serious. Recently I started recording, the recordings leave much to be desired as they are all done in an upstairs bedroom situated exactly two feet from the sun in the summertime. Tracks must be layered on my small mixer as I am only one goon, BUT I make it work
Your influences?
Henry Cow, Van Der Graaf Generator, Slapp Happy, Patti Smith, Kevin Ayers, Gentle Giant, Brian Eno, John Cale, King Crimson, Kate Bush, Lene Lovich, Nina Hagen, Apocalyptica, Buzzcocks, Lords of the New Church, Violent Femmes, Le Orme, Bob Dylan, Dead Boys, Odetta, Joan Baez, Nico, The Jam. Stranglers, X, UK Subs, Generation X, X-Ray Spex, Link Wray, Scarling, Jackoffjill, Arlo Guthrie many more but I'm sure your bored
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is a crowded train station, I sit I play and time moves a bit slower
Equipment used:
Two acoustics, one electric, Tascam mixer, three harmonicas, pan flutes whatever is on hand
Anything else...?
I am very open, we may not share musical interests, it never means we cant congeal. If it's organic it's music. Why can't rappers appreciate an acoustic piece? Why can't guitarists dig flows? Anyone who wants to jam, write, sing, think, eat, run, build....i'm open
