I'm Mike Stone. When I was sixteen, I debuted, singing "John Henry" in the annual junior class talent show in our small town. It was well received, picture on front page of newspaper etc, began to get invitations to sing, started to snowball, got scared of it and backed off, thinking I'd never find out who I was without that. Turned out to be me. I'm ready to start now, and will spend this year recording and performing
Why this name?
In my identity quest, it was the name I chose. Flew into San Francisco one morning carrying a paper sack with one change of clothing, and carved out a new identity under that name to see how I'd be related to if I were someone else.
Do you play live?
Whenever I can. I'm always very grateful to folks for letting me sing for them.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There will be no more record labels. Music will be bought from the artist directly, at about a dollar a cut. Winnowing out the chaff will be a new function, offered by individuals and committees, who will gather popularity and sort themselves out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yep.

Ain't none.
