Why this name?
Ik is wind in ancient mayan... the wind is related to the SPIRIT, BREATH ,the comunication of the TRUTH, a dynamic, playfull force, yet invisible ... also Hyperikus , is a medicinal herb, used to sweet the soul in melancholic times , blooms in the mediterranean on the magical night of the summer solstice, the night of San Juan ... related aswell to my birth name, Alicia....
Do you play live?
yes, at the moment I´m involved with 4 bands, altoght I try to focuss mostly on the production of my own songs along a couple of wonderfull producers : Yamasaki, in the UK and Salvador Fornieles in Spain....

Band History:
I´ve been writing songs long before singin´or even believe I could sing... I´ve been writing poems and stories with a sort of unconcious song scheme... some were written in minuts... most of them are a product of slow destil...
Much of that writing was as meditating... a cathartic healing... a sublime act of destilying the essence of each experience. just to keep record.
I started singing professionaly in the Opera-Rock "HAIR",later I joint a professional Gospel choir, and then other... I´ve Back up many artist and projects since then, one of my dearest is QBAMBA, a very personal fussion of African an Author music lead by the songwriter Oli da Silva, MU...and also I´ve lead some other projects, Back to Bacharach, a quartet dedicated to praise to the mighty one and only Burt .... and many more...
Now I´m comitted to the most serious and enjoyable projects of my career , producer Yamasaki and I are preparing a double record together, along some of our sideckicks, friends,and colaborators... call it collateral damage! we are on party!!! get info at my page in myspace.

I was addicted to Billie Holliday, Nina simone, Miles davis, wich I listen along much soul and some reggae:Fishbone, Black Uhuru,Marley and Tosh... then Joni Mitchel, Me´shell Ngdeocello, Bjork...went back to Billie...
