DADDY G was a concept created to bring out my "alter ego" as a singer/songwriter. To re-define myself as a "true" artist in every sense of the word and to provide you with hopefully good music and lyrics that celebrate life.
Why this name?
I firmly believe in the creator God, and that we were created "in his own image and likeness" and just like Christ would said: "If you've seen me you've seen the Father" I want to transmit the creativity of God (Daddy G) through me.
Do you play live?
I've performed live in the Bahamas and some nightclubs in Miami in the past. Right now I'm just keeping a "low profile".
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
DRASTICALLY! FANTASTICALLY! VERY INTERESTING!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
ABSOLUTELLY!
Band History:
Ernesto Giro /AKA/ Daddy G was born in Havana, Cuba in 1960.
Came to America at the age of 10.
Sang for the local High School band in Union City, NJ.
Was a DJ from 1975 to 1980 spinning at both clubs and local gigs.
Performed as a vocalist in various venues & nightclubs in Miami.
Became a songwriter in 1992 and released my first demo tape: "En Blanco y Negro" (In Black and White), that same year.
In 1996 released my demo CD "Como Un Huracan" (Like a Hurricane) with two songs.
Been actively writing and composing new music ever since.
Currently an affiliate member of BMI and Burnlounge.com. Working on a CD project called: "Songs in the Key of G" ã Copyright 2007, which is a compilation of my music.
