There was a hawk in the tree outside my window...
A short, seasonal song. After October, but before December.
Dedicated to Martin McGreal (1900-1925) and his family.
Based on a true story. (Some people want this song to be longer, while others might prefer it to be considerably shorter.)
Written and recorded on the first day of 2007. Guy Lombardo plays clarinet....no wait, he cancelled.
Must have been something I ate.
'(The Native American) believes profoundly in silence—the sign of a perfect equilibrium. Silence is the absolute poise or balance of body, mind, and spirit.' - Charles Eastman (Ohiyesa) 1858-1939
This song was written in the summer of 2006 to tell my nephews and nieces about one of the branches on their family tree. It was the first song that I wrote and recorded. (Mike Stillman on guitar and vocals; Willy Sunday on harmonica.)
