TALKING BEDS from Tokyo JP & London UK
The design of 'TALKING BEDS' began since '92.
I wanted to sing songs in English,
but I'm not native in English.
So I paired with my old friend John Cary Bithell from Wales in the UK
I kept my distance from the making my works for several years because John went back to the UK in '94.
In these several years John's been helping me to write my words in English by email between Japan and the UK since 2000
And also he's sometimes been giving his words to me
John is absolutely my left brain.

from first album 'CASKETS IN THE CITIES'
second album 'CORRUPTION & SALVATION'...
play in random

Atsu Tokunaga: words, rhythm bed, composition, instruments, voice, sampling, bloody computer works, graphic works

Why this name?
I respect David Byrne(especially '78~'80 with Eno), Tina Weymouth . '80s in Tokyo,I used to dance in some clubs near Nishiazabu, Omotesando or Shibuya,by their beats (also TOM TOM CLUB).
and in those days I saw a movie 'Stop making sense'.
TALKING BEDS is after TALKING HEADS.
Do you play live?
I have no plan to live for the moment,,,
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I have been looking forward to the arrival of the Internet or MP3 and the multimedia for more than 20 years.
It is these ten years in Japan that IT(information technology) was got ready.
Internet or mp3 is effective for "Alone Band" like me.

But 2 albums have their concept each other, so I don't know whether we could convey something of songs by only 'streaming or download' per one song.

...though I have a small iPod too...(^o^)
