Coyote Solo

I started doing this a long time ago, just freestyiling with my boys in Texas, when I first joined the military. I later continued to frestyle, but gave it up after I left the Air Force. I returned a few years later, but didn't really write rhymes or record my voice until 2004. Everything you hear from me comes from the summer of '04 until recently.
Why this name?
It started as a symbol, the coyote logo that I use as a symbol of my clan, my new family and close friends. From there I realized I was on my own alot, meaning, moving around in the miltary every few years and deploying with strangers all the time, I rolled alone a lot. I've always been cool with that.
Do you play live?
I don't really play live, but I freestyle still, occasionally when the mood hits me. I haven't gone up on a stage and battled in a long time, because people were biting my lines and I'd end up sounding cliche' when I recorded because people were wearing out my shit.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't sell CD's or anything, I don't make money from it, but I can tell that it's a bi*** for other people to make money on this, with the whole file sharing angle. On another tip, though, it's the sh*** for people like me, because other people we normally wouldn't come into contact with can hear our stuff.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nah. I do this as a hobby. If I started doing it as a job I might lose my love for it. Then again, I'd probably love it more. I think people that draft contracts are trying to get paid, which is cool, I can't knock anybody for their hustle. At the same time though, I think the music ends up being weaker when the passion is sucked out of it. I have a job already, in the Air Force that I love doing, not for the money, but for the people I get to learn things from and the people I get to teach things to. A major label would have to come correct with the contract as far as money goes, of course, but time is a factor also. If I can't have my own time, I can't f*** with it.
Your influences?
All the sh*** that influences my music don't really have any bearing on how my sh*** sounds, really. I just do it, and at the end of the day, if I'm feeling a particular style of music, I might do something with it and cut or write a song, or I might just shut the hell up and enjoy feeling it.
Favorite spot?
Every city I've ever been to has been cool as hell. I dig everybody's vibe, the more unique the better.
Equipment used:
An old Sony Vaio, and an ancient version of ACID Pro, My mic is a Behringer B-1, run through an M-Audio USB Pre amp. It's all I can afford to f*** with for now.
Anything else...?
I'm not here to make loot or get famous. I just want people to hear my shit, that's it.
