bloodylovely is an alt rock band from the mountains of Western North Carolina. Our music is in the vein of REM, Counting Crows & Toad The Wet Sprocket although we are very often compared to The Cure & diversely The Moody Blues (???)... bloodylovely formed 3/8/03 & the debut cd is available now... bloodylovely has disbanded... Info will be coming soon on a new project from Skip Phillips...
Why this name?
Because it's such a great oxymoron... How could anything 'bloody' be 'lovely'...? Also because our lead guitarist loves the The Beatles & Brit Rock in general... And bloodylovely just sounds so bloody british...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Now you don't have to have a major label deal to to be heard... In fact sites like soundclick, that provide those who create music a place to showcase their work, are revolutionary... No longer is it a must to have industry promotion or Clear Channel playing your songs to be considered successful... There's an audience for aspiring bands... And it's growing much to the dismay of the "Corporate Conglomerates"...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That depends... How much control would a major label allow a band like mine...?
