For over 25 years, T-Bass has been composing, arranging, producing, and has collaborated, recorded and performed with various artists. T-Bass' style of writing combines many genres of today's music including Jazz Fusion, Funk, Hip-Hop, and Rock...to name a few.
His debut solo CD, 'So Low, Pro', is a collection of 10 instrumental tracks which combines those different genres of music, yet blending in the "T-Bass Groove".
T-Bass' newest CD entitled 'I Ain't The One!' is more funk oriented but still remains true to the "T-Bass Groove". In this CD, T-Bass releases some emotional content which has partially helped him with a personal healing process. Some guest artists that appear on the 'I Ain't The One!' CD include Jonnikhan, Brotha Drew, A.B.S., J. B. Saunders, and Gayle Winds (a.k.a. Yolanda).
Enjoy while feasting your ears to the sounds of T-Bass!!
Why this name?
'T-Bass' stands for Thunder Bass because that's how some have described the funky bass style that I use.
Do you play live?
Yes, I do play live, although lately I have been in the studio recording and producing some tracks. I perform in the San Francisco/Bay Area. There's nothing like the rush one gets from performing in front of an audience.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier for unknown, unsigned, independant artists to expose their music without so much red tape.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the contract was right, why not.
Band History:
I have been recording and performing with bands and collaborating with various artists for the last 15 years or so. During that time, I also have been composing and recording my own tracks.
Your influences?
Brothers Johnson, Slave; for their funky musicianship.
Quincy Jones, Rod Templeton; for their composition and arrangement genius.
Michael Jackson; for his overall entertainment showmanship.
