Why this name?
It was given to me, because I stayed with those little bite size candies.
Do you play live?
sure, up and down MS, favorite at Magee Civic Center (Magee, MS), my home county showed me so much luv!!!! Shout out to Simpson County!!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
More ppl can hear you. period.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would, but it's been proven that you can make more money independently. I'm all about that money, to be honest, forget that fame, cause we got bills to pay round here.
Band History:
"I ain't gon lie to ya, dude style so.....abstract....so strange....but I guess that's why all his supporters like his music so much, I don't know"
(JD "Whyte Boi" Giddings)
And then it began
Born Cory Carter (b.1990), the Pinola, MS native didn't begin under hip-hop, but instead made a start with an enthusiasm for Neo-Soul and R&B in New Jersey and over the east coast at 14 under the name "C-Magik the Savage". However, due to his southern fanbase and lyrical inability to interest the crowd, his music didn't sell well amongst peers. But, on a trip to Houston, TX, he returned to his southern roots and reverted to the "dirtier" bass-and-chant styles of southern rap. He soon made friends with fellow artist DJ YungJoe And Simpson County teen promoter James Giddings, bka. Whyte Boi. Carter then changed his alias to "$pree Boyy", a pseudonym chosen because of his voracious appetite for the bite-size candies. and donned an unorthodox style based on lyrics-to-rhythm metaphors which he himself refers to as "Klown Style". In 2008 he joined with Jay Lockhart and became the youngest of many artists under the Yellaboi Entertainment mangement label, based in Hattiesburg, MS. He still continues to polish his art, having traveled from Brooklyn, NY, to Honolulu, Hawaii, in search of what he calls the "perfect swag"......
"My skill is God-Given, I was chosen to make music " (Carter)
