A jazz bassist for over 30 years, mostly playing in small ensembles of progressive and avant garde jazz. I used to play out regularly when I was younger, but demands of work and family (got to pay the man!) I have since added a collection of other instruments to allow support recording original compositions at home (keyboards, guitar, woodwinds, percussion), so that way I can play with myself (LOL)
Why this name?
Was born with the name, so I am used to it.
Do you play live?
There is nothing I used to love more than playing live. Just doing some studio work now with my old bandmates. Live gigs once in a blue moon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Good way to expose independently produced music to a wider audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they would have me, great.
Your influences?
All the older ECM recordings of the 70's and 80's, Keith Jarrett, AC Jobim, almost too many to list.
Favorite spot?
Most jazz clubs in NYC, Jazz Bakery in LA
Equipment used:
Old Fender basses, A collection of acoustic basses, Epiphone Emperor Guitar, Cordoba Classical guitar, Yamaha and Roland synths, wind instruments and Marshall amps
