Bam Bam Beatz sets out to create a unique sound unlike any other production team in the game. We literally do any style but stray away from making anything that "sounds like" anyone else. We basically do our own thing. Bam Bam Beatz consists of Brandon "B Mc-C" McCollum and partner Kevin Erickson.
Why this name?
Bam Bam is a nickname that B Mc-C got when he was little. BAM is his initials.
Do you play live?
Yes, B Mc-C raps and perform all over the Twin Cities. For more info check out his myspace page www.myspace.com/bhasstagefright. Kevin has been playing in bands off and on since he started making music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's already changed from it. People can get free music and artists aren't making as much money. For the sh*** quality music that some people are putting out these days that the radio calls "mainstream worthy" I will keep downloading and downloading...ha ha but for quality and independent artists and people that are really talented and influence me downloading can f*** them over and that ain't cool. For artists though, downloading can actually be a good thing because it gets your music to an audience that might not have been able to hear it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on who the major is and who's presenting me with the contract, I'd have to know a good deal about their history and what they've done for/with artists.
Band History:
B Mc-C has been making beats alone for about 4 years and started making beats with Kevin after he met him through a band that Kevin was in. They have been making beats together for about a year.
Equipment used:
a Macintosh computer with Reason, Recycle, Garage Band...all being controlled by a M-Audio Keystation 49e...soon to be adding Logic Studio

It ain't about the equipment, it's how ya use it!
