Ty Elwin is a local Florida accoustic artist who is tearing up Orlando with his original music and smooth vocals. He is originally from Atlanta, but has since ventured south to spread his soulful sounds.
Why this name?
I just took my name… and slapped it on there like the true egomaniac I am.
Do you play live?
I play at a few local spots here in Orlando. Kate O’ Briens & Shanagolden seem to be two of the hot spots right now, but we (Soapbox Groove included) still got Adobe Gilas coming this September and college appearances at Valencia (where I’m studying um… something).
He can be heard live all around the Orlando area at places such as OnTap, Shanagoldens, Friendly Confines, Devaney's and Kate O'Briens.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet provides an infinite number of listeners to music, eventually maximizing the potential for growth.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I've been waiting my whole life for one.
Your influences?
Jimi Hendrix is probably my biggest influence. I know I'll never play guitar like that but gotta have a standard. I'm also influenced by the artist formerly know as,you'll always be Prince to me, and of course Tracey Chapman.
Favorite spot?
There is no city, like New York City, but Hotlanta is my joint.
