The MASSIVE is a Hip-Hop Artist from West Palm Beach, FL who time and time again refreshingly shatters people’s expectations of what the 'Dirty South' should sound like by creating music with more artistic value than the materialistic cliché filled raps which are so overly abundant on airwaves nowadays. The MASSIVE was birthed into Earth in 1982, the same year Melle Mel released his ground breaking, socially conscious, Hip-Hop Gem “The Message”, and now The MASSIVE has a Message of his own. The MASS’s first recollection of his introduction to Hip-Hop was him finding a Fat Boys tape his mother had bought and popping it into his Fisher Price Mic/Tape Recorder… “The Fat Boys are Back… And you know they could never be Wack!” … At that exact moment MASS knew he was destined to be a Rap Star so he made it his life long goal to make Rap Music his career of choice. Being an overweight child he admired rappers like The Fat Boys, Heavy D, & Chubb Rock not only for their music but also for embracing their burden of bigness and using it to their advantage… He wanted to carry on that tradition so he thought of a “phat” name and dubbed himself M.M.C. a.k.a. MASSIVE M.C. which years later evolved into D.J. MASSIVE and then finally The MASSIVE. With The MASSIVE’s greatest influences being Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, RZA & the whole Wu-Tang Clan he was sure to adopt that raw witty lyricism and fuse it together with his own unique flavor to create something that would set him apart from the rest during this ‘Ice Age’ of Hip-Hop where rocking jewels around your neck have become more important than dropping jewels of wisdom on the youth. The MASSIVE strives to restore that ‘Golden Age’ integrity back into Hip-Hop music because without its elemental values Hip-Hop culture will surely die. While “thinkin’ of a masterplan” MASSIVE has completed a compilation project with Madd Aliu$ and ?THA RIDD~A~LAH? (CEO of ERBaL MiNdED PrOdUcTiOnZ) which is available as of 4-20 this year and is now working on his debut masterpiece album Once Upon A Time In Hip-Hop which will be released later this year on Indie Label E.M.P.
