Why this name?
Mahachakra (Great Disc) ecompassed the broad range and power of music to transform and transport body, mind and spirit.
Do you play live?
Mainly studio work, but I am gearing up to start playing live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows artists to be free from the control and artistic restraints of corporate businessmen, lawyers and accountants.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the label understands what an artist needs and is there to enhance not enslave the creative spirit.
Band History:
Mahachakra is the music studio project started in 2003, to provide a platform for creative sonic exploration, using virtual and acoustic instruments to express several styles including ambient, electronica, world fusion, dance, tribal, visionary, etc... with a focus on contemporary interpretation of ancient devotional and transcendental sound vibrations (mantras, bhajans, kirtans).
