Doug Adair is a singer/songwriter from Canada.
Studied guitar at the Eli Kastner Guitar Academy in Toronto and during the 80's
And 90's wrote and recorded an immense amount of catchy acoustic and mainstream rock music at his home studio in North York.
Currently performing at open mics locally and recording.
Why this name?
It's...my name ;-)
Do you play live?
Just recently started to get back out slowly doing open mic nights...lots of fun ! My first night back out was very special indeed.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that this showcase is a BIG plus for bands trying to break...but at the same time it has cheapened the musical experience i.e. the quality of mp3 isn't as good as CD and now they are obsolete.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No but I wouldn't turn down a licence deal.
Band History:
I used to be the 2nd half of "Short Sircuit".
"Short Sircuit" was around in many forms since
1978. So I had a very large investment of time in it and writing my own music with multitrack reel to reel machines when not recording and performing with the band.
Your influences?
Musical influences are from Jethro Tull to James Taylor (pretty far reaching).
Favorite spot?
Toronto.
Equipment used:
Vintage equipment for that warm feel.
Anything else...?
If You like the stuff...let me know.
Thx ENJOY.
