Band? More of a solo artist playing with his own songs, own words, own playing style (maybe not the best, yet still learning), but lyricsfromhome is a generalisation for all the artists that create their own music as opposed to those that play covers, although covers are a main staple of my personal repetoire, to keep crowds entertained.
Why this name?
I chose my bandname because I felt that I would be able to utilise the skills in writing my own material (hence the name lyrics from HOME)
Do you play live?
I have played in front of a number of people at open mic sets before now. These are pre-arranged events by various groups of people in many different 'pub' locations, and I enjoy getting up and playing. Ok, so mainly its guitar based, but anything is possible.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I am not entirely sure. It does detract from going to the shops to pick up a copy of an album or cd single. The singles have been slowly phased out, which is a shame - but downloads seem to be effective as more and more people are logging on to the internet services.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I was deemed to be good enough, I would jump at the chance.
Band History:
History? There isn't really that much to it, apart from having written songs since the age of 15 (although I've only got 24 recorded at the moment, I think I still have lyrics for 8-10 more)
Your influences?
Darren Hayes/Savage Garden, my dad, and any artists that use guitars and keyboards (elton john being one of the longest running music artists I've heard of on the piano)
Favorite spot?
My bedroom - with a guitar/keyboard

Or any open mic nights..

Or in a church based recording studio
Equipment used:
A Jim Deacon basic electric guitar - or a Yamaha PSR-260 Keyboard
Anything else...?
When i'm not writing new material, i'm often found listening to a variety of music (radio 1, kestrel FM, 2-ten FM, or any of a number of music channels, or cd's - eg, Genesis, School Reunion 'The 80's' to name but 2)
