The Rant
Hello and welcome to the 21-Outs SoundClick Page. 21-Outs has been an ongoing idea for about 6 years that finally materialised when multi-instumentalist, recording artist Philip Cassidy met Shane McDonnell (Guitar) Bryan Rabbitte (Bass) and Kevin Liffey (Drums).
Before then Philip had been trying to get musicians together but things never seemed to gel due to commitment issues, harking to the all too familiar cliché of "Creative Differences...."
So eventually he took the incentive to set up his own studio and decided to get it started all himself...
Keeping busy by playing Acoustic Showcases to keep the music heard in venues such as The AuxerrEXPO in France, Eamonn Dorans in Temple Bar, The Dome in Wexford, The Ballina International Street and Arts Festival, The Roisin Dubh, The Quays, The Cellars 'Subterranean' and the well known 'Underground Acoustic' showcase in Galways Club De Burgos, Philip eventually decided enough was enough.
In July 2007 Phil formed a new band with former member (from 2003 effort "Guilty By Association") Shane as well as two new members Bryan and Kevin, finally discovering musicians that have a fantastic combination of skill, talent and some f***in' personality! "These are the musicians i've been looking for all my life... (Philip)" Shane's diverse musical taste combined with his heavy guitar sound and experimental style has added some testicular fortitude and peculiar curiosity to the band's already untamed sound. Bryan ferocious low-end bass assault can only be matched by his ferocious on-stage antics and "balls out attitude!" Whilst Kevin has the boundless capabilities of a jazz drummer enhanced by his own unique groove and uncanny personality (as well as a talent for hilarious impersonations!). Without them this band would just not be the same... cos they're the musicians! :)
...And they haven't killed eachother yet so thats a good sign!

Do you play live?
Ya! At the moment we're concentrating on the West of Ireland until we are mobile and our single is released.
Special moments... ya...our first gig. I've been playing these songs acoustically live now for a couple of years , it was great to belt them out with the band. Shane, Bryan and Kevin are unreal guys and they add so much to the raw sound!

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its good and its bad but its good too! I like that we can get the music out there but i find that with the major variety and accessability people are are over spoiled for choice and there's a lacking of excitement about live shows because the curiosity isn't really there. but f*** it as long as people are listening i guess i'm happy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but the terms would have to suit me, creatively and image wise. I'd hate to made into one of those tight pance indie bands! LOL

I love kurt Cobain, his lyrics, voice and musical arrangement.
I also love Creedence Clearwater Revival.
We all share a love for Primus!!
I'm into alot of stuff, as far as guitarists go, Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, George Benson, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai. Drummers: Dave Grohl, Joey Jordison, Brian Downey, Buddy Rich, Lars Ulrich (I dont care what you think) and that guy from Mastadon is pretty cool!

Favorite spot?
Dont have one. Galway is where we're based but there isn't much of a music scene, everyone thinks there is but there really isnt. Club De Burgos is good for underground events and DIY gigs, depending if people will support them or not!
