TIGERBLUE - are a band fusing elements of: 70's-ROCK, 80's-FUNK & 90's-JAZZ, blended with subtle PROGRESSIVE influences to form their own unique sound. The songs are always melodic & accessible, yet musically challenging in structure & chord voicing. Altering from driving funk/rock groves to airy hypnotic textures, contrasting dynamics & a high level of musicianship are an expected mainstay of any Tigerblue performance.
What makes their sound so full for just 3 musicians, are their individual arrangements for guitar & bass & use of vocal harmonies. But don't let the name confuse you. Although there are certain blues elements to their name & music, they are definitely not a blues band.

Why this name?
Well first off, it really doesn't have anything to do with playing the blues. I have a thing for cats, tigers are the bigest most beautiful cats & my eyes are very blue.

We play between Montreal & Ottawa.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'll be making a lot more $$$ without the middle man & every one around the world can hear & buy my songs, as soon as I write them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Band History:
Founded by guitarist/singer/songwriter Michael Taer in Montreal in the mid 90's, TIGERBLUE are a trio that have had various members through out their history.
Initially inspired by 70's rock groups with a slight progressive edge, later more funk & jazz influences were added. The goal was to create music that stood out from mainstream radio, yet still remained accessible to the average listener.
Now based in south East Ontario, with several dozen completed tunes, a CD will soon be ready to be released.
