One of the most original sounds to come out of the east coast in a long time, Lewn (pronounced "Loon") has gained the respect of fellow artists and fans all over the world. This Connecticut born artist brings a strong mix of rap blended with smooth harmonies and a hardcore underground sound that has made him a quick fan favorite. With songs like "Low Life" and "Fly Away" he shows his diversity as well as a clear understanding of true human emotion. On the other end of the spectrum songs like "Under Ground", "Chains" and "Stand Tall" paint a clear picture of a man who gains strength from those who believe in him and refuses to give up on this life. Bottom line, Lewn's music is as real as it gets......ask around.
Keeping with the trend of giving his fans a complete spectrum of styles, Lewn is in the process of recording a brand new album that has fans from coast to coast talking already. This long awaited release will not only feature production by the one and only Sinima as well as stand out producer David Sanders II ,but it also promises an impressive display of guitar work by L-Wren. "The combination of Me, Sinima and L-Wren is like nothing I've ever heard before" says Lewn. "People have always said that my music is different and unique, but with these guys I feel it myself more than I ever have before".
Lewn has been building his fan base and his credibility as a respected artist for years now and the antisipation for this album has grown right along with it. "I know they're waiting" said Lewn "Now it's my job to make sure I don't let any of them down". No official release date has been announced as of yet.
Lewn has performed with such artists as Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Prozak, Skatterman & Snug Brim, Grave Plott, Paul Wall, Ill Bill, Potluck, ABK and more.

Why this name?
Lewn stems from an ancient word meaning "Lion"...which is cool with me, but that's something I found out later on. The truth is, I was looking back at all my old lyrics from a group I was in ( LAWST ) and I noticed I kept using the word in many of my verses. I had gotten into the habbit of spelling things differently when I was writing and I had repeatedly replaced the word "LOST" with "LAWST" and the word "LOON" with "LEWN". I didn't think anything of it until the group split up and I went in search of a fresh start and a new name. And there it was, starring back at me on the page....LEWN.
Do you play live?
Lewn can be seen in a number of locations in New England and has also performed in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Illinois and more. Check out his official myspace page ( myspace.com/lewnmusic ) or the website ( lewnmusic.com ) for more information.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Less and less people may buy records now and it may lower the record sales considerably.... but if I can get my music to more people and they still get something out of listening ,then I say its a blessing ! Its about spreading the love of music and understanding ourselves a little better.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if it were life changing. Lewn Music is my home.
Your influences?
I'm a fan of music....all music. My direct Rap/Hip Hop influences if I had to make a list would be : Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Nate Dogg and Everlast to name a few. And if you listen to my music you should hear a touch of all four of those artist in my songs. I do my best to still make it my own.
