HEARTH AND SOUL
Donna and I have been together for 34 years, married 23 of those years. We first met when she joined the band I was in and we played music together for a couple of years. Donna decided to go back to nursing school and I continued playing music. 20 years later we are still playing and creating original songs. Although our style of music has changed from hard rock to a more progressive, jazz and new age oriented style, we feel that our current syle of music portays more of what we want to express and showcases our true talents as musicians! Donna plays keyboards and sings, I play lead, rhythm and bass guitar, and drum programming. Most of the material we play is original, I write mostly instrumentals, and Donna writes the songs with vocals. As time goes on I will be uploading more material.
Why this name?
Our music depicts the true "heart and soul" of who we are!
Do you play live?
Currently, we are not playing live, yet are looking for places to play.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
By giving more musicians a chance for their music to be heard!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.
Your influences?
We have 1500 cd's in our collection and over 1,000 albums. Pretty much everybody has been an influence.
Favorite spot?
Herman Gulch in Colorado is Gary's favorite hiking spot. Donna's is the top of any 14'er.
Equipment used:
Korg keyboard, Stratocaster and Martin.
I used to use 2 Alesis adats with a 32 channel Mackie mixer. But now I prefer my Imac with Garageband 3.
