OUR BAND OF...3...is a punk rock trio of sorts. the Underachievers consist of Ty the Spaz(guitar, lead vocs), Alex(drums, vocs) and Waldo(bass, vocs).
Why this name?
funny story 'bout that...when we formed, we chose the name Concept: Zero, but recently we've changed our name to The Underachievers. if you want the long-ass version, see Band History
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
well now people can listen to music for free, so i guess that's good. sure record sales have dropped like hell, but for the truly good bands out there, it was never about the money now, was it?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
probably not. Anti-Flag made it work for them because they're all about the message and what they have to say, but we don't see it happening.
Band History:
It all started in the summer of '05, when Spaz met Alex through a dumb kid in their neighborhood. Since then we've had a number of people in and out (three bassists, two rhythm guitarists, a singer, and two drummers) until we finally settled on the lineup we have today. We are currently in the process of recording an album and looking for a show.
When we formed, we chose the name Concept: Zero. Back then we didnt have Waldo, but we did have Austin on rhythm guitar. This is when we wrote songs such as "Story of My Life," "Your Own Little World," and "A Better Tomorrow."
Fast forward to a year later, Austin wanted to change the name. Ty and Alex thought he was crazy, and it didnt help that the name he chose was Falling Back. a month later, Waldo joined up and the four of us played together, writing songs such as "M16 (Tool For The Government)," (which was really written by our good friend Wicked Wes)but by now Alex started to agree with Austin. he'd dropped the Falling Back name, but still wanted a change. by April of '07, we had dropped the name(and Austin) and changed our name to The Underachievers.

Your influences?
our influences are really anything we might hear that sounds good
Favorite spot?
we have yet to go there.
Equipment used:
Ty uses a Gibson SG, which he plugs into a marshall half, but his dad's got this old fender princeton reverb, which you hear on some later recordings
