Refracture is 21 year old breaks and electro house producer Paul Dobson, Refracture is renowned for emotional and uplifting dance music. With deep pumping sub basses usually accompanied with melodic layers of uplifting synths and razor sharp glitchy big beats.
Originally a producer of trance and atmospheric drum and bass 'Refracture' was made in 2007 with help from DJ friend Markus, as the tunes were heading now a slightly different more glitchy and energetic route there was need for a change of name to accompany these fresh new sounds.
I try to keep the songs as flowing as energetic as possible while keeping them emotional and uplifting, I hope you enjoy!

Why this name?
A mate of mine helped me choose it, I had made a couple of tunes which were were kinda jagged so he said it might be a good idea to use the frac:tured so whatever i called the tune it would fit. example. frac:tured- emotions. pretty cool idea, thanks to Mark for that!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think its a good thing definetely, i mean its all about mp3 players now instead of walkmans so it has to be done. Also its really helpful for guys like me to put songs on the net and see what other people think of it and may even get noticed by someone higher up..
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course! I wouldnt make cheesy songs as a result though as I hate cheese lol.
Your influences?
Im influenced by lots of different music. Mostly electronic, but anything with a good emotional melody i really like. To name some.. Aphex Twin, Sigur Ros, NIN, Dogzilla, Matt Darey. I used to be into harder music aswell such as Guyver, BK, Lee Haslam, good hard trance.
Favorite spot?
My bed without doubt, with a decent film on or making a tune :P
Equipment used:
Just my laptop, i have reloop decks which are getting a bit old now. I use fruity loops for production on my laptop aswell as acid and hundreds of different synths.
