Wokken Stik - Mike Hammond Tribute Page.
News
Wokken Stik - Mike Hammond Tribute Page. Hi, I am William C. Duff ( Bill) I will be taking this page to another level, mas some of you may know, my Friend Mike Hammond the Drummer of the Wokken Stik Band, Fought a Hard and terrible battle with Cancer, He was Brave, Never complaining But Kept his spirits up, as well as all of his friends and Fans. The remaining band members, Erick Reed and Steve Clark, were very patient, and understanding through out all of the sadness and waited in Hopes for a Miracle, Unfortunately only miracle awaiting the band and Mike Hammond, was to Have Mike Pass away on October 28th, 2013. He is then became free of his Blindness and his Cancer, He became a Whole spirit again, God has Transformed him into Guardian Angel, to further watch over and Protect his Son, Austin Hammond, and to Help me go forward with this Page. What once was a Page to Promote a Little Known band, and to try to seek fame and Fortune, is now a memory of an amazing man, his accomplishments and his Dream to be the Blind Drummer for a one of a Kind Rock band. He did take this band as far as he could. Please if you knew Mike Hammond, or any of the Band, maybe went to concert or two, Got any stories and Photo's, Please Post them and tell others of your amazing adventure into the Life of my Friend and Artistic Drummer of this Amazing Band, The Band went on, it Changed its name to Restless Souls, it got another Drummer, got back an old Bass Player when the last, Kevin Clark, decided to throw in the towel, who, thew first Bass Played, Jessi Rasplaskia, who, again, Couldn't Be professional and Nearly brung down the Band again, as far as I know, Erick reed has a 3 rd. Bass Player, I am not sure if he has the same name as he had, Restless Souls, But the Band is out there some where, Performing in Local Bars and Clubs, I Wish Eric Reed and the Band Total success, Eric is an amazing talent, He wrote most of his own songs and Plays an amazing Left handed Electric Guitar. As for Mike He is in Heaven Playing his Drums for God, I hear him often, when it Storms and the thunder Claps! Somethimes I reconize the Song he is Playing, One thing for sore, as bad as things got for mike, His band members and all of his fans, He has blessed each and every one of us with his amazing Friendship, Rest in Pease Mike Hammond and the Wokken Stik Band.

I bet crowds that see us live for the first time think, A three man band with a left handed guitarest/singer, and a blind drummer, what the hell is this going to sound like.
Why this name?
Do you have a wokken stik? We all do.
Do you play live?
looking to expand, we love playing live, any show with a good crowd is special.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It changes the way a band can market themselves, and how they get signed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but at this point it's not likely. but we will talk.
Band History:
We are a three man band from Il. We started out as a four man, Nov. 2004 but you know how the band thing goes, only two of us are in the band now. Our cd Inner Treason was recorded with three of the original members, we made a change a the bass player position, not because the other bass player sucked or anything, we just needed to up grade the bands live show. The three of us who are the band now love what we do, and do it well.
Your influences?
We are not in to real heavy stuff, our original music covers a wide range of styles, We have a little something for all.
Favorite spot?
Mostly biker clubs, kids seem to like our cd to so public events have worked well for us to.
Equipment used:
basic sound lights, Yamaha, guitar is Crate tube with just wah, drums Sabian symbals and cb drums singal action pearl. don't have bass info will add later.
Anything else...?
Our cd was recorded by, Jamie Cox Jacksonbille Il. We recorded it 10 hours total and mastered 7 songs, We are pleased with the sound, It's worth more than it cost us.
