Sol Asunder is devoted to making epic, brutal music while not polluting the overall sound with unjustified dissonance and self-indulgent, pretentious creativity. There are intense elements of death, black and melodic metal established throughout Sol Asunder composition. We play what we like; There is no compromise. Though the band does not like to descend into genres, it's most accurately classified as brutal, melodic metal.
Why this name?
SOL ASUNDER means "Torn From The Sun" in old Latin.
Do you play live?
As an unsigned band, Sol Asunder has supported such bands live as Origin, Deeds of Flesh, Severed Savior, Impaled, Dark Tranquility, and Himsa in our first years. We are still playing shows all the time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
In our first year, we produced a pro music video for "Hate Fueled Anger" which helped us spread our sound in a visual medium. Watch it at solasunder.com or myspace.com/solasunder
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. With a vast catalog of unrecorded songs, we have laid out the framework and music for the next two full-length albums. We are currently in search for a label to help us move mighty metal forward!
Band History:
Sol Asunder continues to build recognition from its inception in 2003. Armed with humble home recordings, and extreme live performances, we continue to grow a base of awesome, dedicated fans. Over the last few years, our resume has grown considerably.

In 2004 we came out blaring with our first studio EP release, "Asunder The Surface" which features 5 songs from old recordings unreleased. This upped the ante, and after a year of great responses from zines and websites, we came together with some songs old and new for our 2006 album "Horribly Human".
