Tribal Blarf
NEWS
Update: Febuary 29, 2004
Hey, Tribal Blarf fans! Matt here. How've you guys been? Awesome. Anyways, it's been a while since this was updated so here goes with the latest and greatest news that's fit to print:
Because we didn't have a drummer for our Halloween show, it basically sucked, and we are not going to be posting MP3's from it, as it would tarnish our reputation. In addition, I have taken down that "Whatever Happened to Aaron?" studio demo because it sounded like ass; Adam was missing a string and the vocals were muffled, so down it goes.
The GOOD news is as such: we have been working on a few studio songs, NOT just demos, actual studio recordings which will be up as soon as we finish them. We hope to have a few actual songs up by the summer and maybe an EP or album soon. Very soon, one of these new songs will be up.
The reason it takes us so long to make stuff is because of our schedule, as well as the fact that we have to deal with long-distance band relations, Trevor goes to college three hours away and we can only record when we're all three in town. We're working on a system which will hopefully allow us to work over long distances despite that. So stay tuned for more good music. Yeah!
Update: Dec. 2, 2003:
The MP3s are coming soon. Perhaps some video footage too. I'll have the Geocities site up real soon. It'll have awesome photos of our latest show...This was a gay update but I'm board...Rumchug.
Update: Nov. 8, 2003:
YEAH!!! On Nov. 1rst, Tribal Blarf played their second live show featuring all new songs. We had a lot of trouble, as our drummer KYLE decided not to drum for us since "he has a woman, now." Surprise, Kyle: YOU'RE OUT OF THE f***ING BAND. In fact, our first song we did was a diss song about how lame and stupid Kyle is.
But the bottom line is NEW MP3'S ARE COMING SOON. Be patient, and we will deliver the goods!

First, there were the Beatles.
Then, there were the Doors.
Then, there was Nirvana.
Now, a band has come that surpasses all three combined as the greatest rock band ever.
That band is here. That band... is Tribal Blarf.
Tribal Blarf...well...what is there to say about Tribal Blarf. Tribal Blarf is (member wise, anyways) Adam Chao (guitar), Matt (vocals), Trevor Scranton (vocals/rap).
Guest members include Kyle Ayers (drums) and Andy Cooper (trombone)

Why this name?
Long story...let's just say a trip to Wal-Mart at 12 at night was involved...which...when you think about it...is kinda stupid...but the name rules!
Do you play live?
We have done two live shows: McMahanfest2K3 and a Halloween show in Nick's basement. The former one is the better of the two, but the second one turned out well enough, given the shitty schedule we had to work with. Do we like it? F*** YEAH.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
F*** the RIAA...they can't stop it. I don't think the internet is all that negative, either. I'll download a song and I'll say, "Hey, I f***ing like this band." So I'll go buy their cd. The internet allows people to hear your music, and that's not a bad thing. Who the f*** wants to pay $20 for a song that is stuck in his/her head. Once again, f*** the RIAA. Suit me........you won't get any money......I'm POOR...HAHAHA f***ERS!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe... we'd have to be sure we'd be getting a fair deal first and not screwed by someone like say, DAVID GEFFEN. Asshole!
Band History:
Basically, we are all friends and graduated the same year, except for Kyle who is a senior this year.
We formed one night before McMahan Fest 03...wrote a few songs...the music was improvised on the spot. We don't take this thing too seriously, but even so, we somehow ended up being the greatest band ever, which is crazy.
As for our second show, we meant to spend a lot more time on it but school and other sh*** got in the way and it took a while before we actually got sh*** done. The main problem was that KYLE, our (ex)drummer, didn't show up because "he has a woman, now." He has since been kicked out of the band, and will never be seen nor heard from again.

Your influences?
Adam Chao - the Ramones, the Clash, etc. Rancid, the Strokes, Metallica, the Talking Heads, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Andrew W.K., Pink Floyd, Archers of Loaf, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Link Wray, much, much more.
Trevor Scranton - Eazy E, N.W.A., Paris, The DropKick Murphys, Whirlwind Heat, Queen. More to come soon.
Matt - Failure, A Perfect Circle, Weezer, The Pillows, Yasunori Mitsuda, Hiroki Kikuta, Joe Satriani, Metallica, ZUNTATA, Radiohead, the Pixies, Bad Religion, Tool, Ben Folds. Our music is nothing like any of these bands, but I listed them anyway.
Kyle Ayers - ...is NOT IN THE BAND ANYMORE. His musical influences are irrelevant.

Favorite spot?
DUNWOODY, GA. because Kipp Pardue and Ryan Seacrest both call it home.....or maybe it's the fact they we all grew up here.
