Zanna

Female composer, vocalist and pianist.

Do you play live?
Yes, I have played my original music, live. Basically, songs are requested for certain occasions. I write them, perform them and bring smiles to the peoples' faces that they were written for.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows every person who has access, that wants to get a message out, to do so in the most effective and rapid way, possible.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Wouldn't you? Silly question. :)
Band History:
I have been a musician since I was 5 years old. My Dad stuck me on a stage in front of 200 people and said, "Sing, baby."...I've been singing, ever since. I frequently sang at parties and was a member of the school choirs and drama club. I studied classical piano with a college of music in Pennsylvania for many years. After High School, I formed a band that played local parties. I soon turned to writing and performing my own work. I have recorded some of what you'll be listening to in a professional studio, while other works are recorded through a home studio. I am also part of a professional performing duo. We play parties and private occasions.
Your influences?
My influences are varied. The genres include soul, jazz, soft rock and pop. Some of the musical influences in my life have been, Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd, Liz Story, Jewel, Janice Ian, Elton John, Billy Joel, Sting, Andrea Boccelli and Kitaro.
Favorite spot?
Los Angeles, California (Actually, Sun Valley)...you probably never heard of the place. It's a little slice of heaven, right outside Burbank. Love it!
Anything else...?
People have different comments on my style and sound. Although, I have my own style, when I collaborate, the other artists' styles mix with my own. Writing with someone else is fairly new to me. And, so is recording on a home system. Anyway, I'm going to let you be the judge. I hope you enjoy whatever you listen to.
