"7th Sun really rocks. The band is an original rock ānā roll blues band featuring the powerful songwriting and musicianship of 21 year old JT Cutis. Its music is rooted in the classic rock of honest artists like the Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Derek and the Dominos, but with its spiraling guitars, driving rhythms, and gutsy vocals, the quintet led by JT Curtis soars into a new future of rock 'n' roll." ~Steve Isreal, syndicated music critic~

Why this name?
6th Sun was already taken
Do you play live?
7th Sun mostly plays in Los Angeles, but the band has played all across the country: New York City, San Diego, San Franisco, and Austin Texas. 7th Sun has also played in other incarnations with Curtis, Kury & Quadros playing around South California as the Cream Tribute Band, Whipped Cream. The core four members also backup powerhouse vocalist Becky Curtis and legendary saxophone player Jimmy Z.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
You don't need to be a musicologist to see that the music industry is going down the toilet due to music downloads and easier pirating. The internet is a tool for usefull marketing but cannot replace all music medias. People need to stop illegal downloading shows and get out to see a real show at a REAL venue. A couple of hours away from your computer is not going to kill you...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
7th Sun is definately interested in working with a major label should they provide the right buisness and tools to expand the band's following.
Band History:
The band has mostly been the creation of Guitarist/Lead Singer/Chief Songwriter JT Curtis going as far back as his days in high school. In 2006, Curtis joined forces with drummer Stephen Quadros (Mike Pinera, Snow) & bassist/vocalist Adam Kury (Candlebox) as Whipped Cream, America's hottest Cream tribute band. Curtis, Quadros, Kury began to backup powerhouse R&B vocalist Becky Curtis (Otis Blackwell) with keyboardist Michael Russeck; this lineup was later joined by legendary saxophone player Jimmy Z (Rod Stewart, Etta James, Tom Petty, Dr Dre). In 2007, JT Curtis, Adam Kury, Stephen Quadros & Mike Russeck commenced work on a concept album entitled FROM THE BEGINNING. The band began playing around town along with another guitarist named Jason Land (who also played on the album along with guitarist Ron Scalera). As Adam Kury took a leave of absence to tour with Seattle Grunge band Candlebox, Tony Cavazo (Quiet Riot) has played bass for 7th Sun. With a new album out, a hot live show, and their title as "Supernova of Rock 'n Roll," 7th Sun has generated a loyal following to the musical experience.
