A Sicilian street emcee representing NY to the fullest, from his birthplace, City Island (Bronx) to Syracuse where he currently rests his head. Anonymous defines hardcore, reality-based hip hop in it's purest form. He has gained respect around NYC for his public and street corner battles as well as his prison rec yard cyphers. In the Independent hip hop scene he is among the elite.

His hard hitting lyrics have grabbed the attention of hip hop heads from NY to the UK and all the way over in Japan. Fresh out on the streets after 3 years of incarceration, Anonymous is hungry and hasn't even gotten started. He's starting by filtering joints out to the streets, but the exclusive sh*** only heard at live shows or not at all will all be released at once. Where will you be when Anonymous comes out with a bang?
Why this name?
"I entered a battle when I was 14 years old and didn't have a stage name. When the DJ asked me what my name was I told him to just call me the anonymous emcee because I didn't have a name. After demolishing my way to the top at age 14 (the second youngest competitor was 17) the name just sort of stuck"
Do you play live?
"I do shows everywhere and anywhere I can. I like doing more mellow shows with the tour kids and backpack hip hop heads because they listen to the music and don't bring their petty street beef with them. But the UK is my favorite spot. I banged out 8,000 large over there and 7,999 dug my shit. The other guy was an older cop"
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet helps expose nice emcees that would've otherwise never had a chance of being heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Would I get to own my masters?
Your influences?
"Man, I like everything. Right now I listen to a lot of people I f*** with like Akir, Immortal Technique, Lowkey, Diabolic, Breez, Poison Pen, etc. (all my people in the Rebel Militia) but I grew up on everything from GNR to BDP. I love jazz music, and I really dig the sound of some of this new age jazz I've been hearing lately. I am big into the Def Jux style of hip hop too. Those guys will be legendary in my book and what makes that better is that they are normal everyday laid back dudes. No holier than thou bullshit, real humble"
Favorite spot?
NYC, London, Syracuse
Equipment used:
Depends where I am recording, but my boy DJ Tes 1 the Sicilian at Red Brick Records has the best equiptment you can buy. As for just recording programs, Pro Tools/ Reason, and Nuendo.
Anything else...?
The album is due out whenever the f*** we finish it? But if it's not one of the best albums you have ever heard, send it back within 15 days and get your skull cracked free, no questions asked...

To the real hip hop lovers out there, man woman and child... it is still alive regardless of what they tell you. Peace my people
