Here at SPS, it's about the music. The Bird Digs Music, especially high quality music.
SPS is founded by the owner, Ernest Hart, and he does his best to produce music that is both entertaining, and of as high a quality as he can muster on limited resources.
Despite the inability to physically PLAY an instrument to any large extent, he will sit for hours on end to bring you the best sounding pieces within his ability to mix. Trust his ears, The Bird does.

Why this name?
"Because people dig birds with swords."
Seriously? A Samurai Penguin is the most interesting mascot I could think of. Something that wasn't quite what you'd expect to hear in a name. And it works, it's a name that sticks in your head and can search on google long after you've heard it, or even forgot half of it.

Do you play live?
Negetive. I can't play an instrument well enough to do a life performance.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Instant gratification. You can ship songs to the target audience within minutes of finishing a mix.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That would depend solely on the nature of the deal, and whether or not the money recieved from that would solve bill problems and things of that nature.
Band History:
Samurai Penguin Studios was founded in February 2007 by Ernest Hart. Asside from the official website hosted by a kind web-master, there isn't much to say since not much has really happened.
Your influences?
One of my largest influences is the Jpop band TWO MIX, known for titles such as JUST COMMUNICATION and WHITE REFLEXTION. Stunning pieces that take anything available, and put them together to the best of the Artists abilities. As one would expect, their name describes exactly their style, a Two Mix.
I'm also influenced by Megumi Hayashibara, Noubo Uetsume (FF7 Advent Children), BT (Stealth movie soundtrack.) And just about anything else I listen to and like.

Austin. I live here. Don't really know anywhere else.
