Steve Lefebvre
NEWS   I do have some news!

I will be appearing in "That you may have life" being held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on March 5th, 6th and 7th at 7:00 pm. The time is tentative so I'll update it as soon as possible.

I'll be in the band for most of the evening but I do make an appearance on stage as Thomas. I have just enough singing lines to manage to forget them....... so show up and see if I remember my lines!

Hi,

Not much to tell you... I am Steven J. Lefebvre, blues guitarist and stand-up philosopher. I currently reside in Yakima, Washington.

I don't have anything in terms of playing dates scheduled for now. If you are having a charity benefit, event or you just have a fever and you'd like some folky funky blues rock, I am the prescription.
Why this name?
'Twas the name they wrote on the card.
Do you play live?
I do. I can play dead as well...

In all of the years that I have played, I have really enjoyed the last two years at the Yakima Folk Life Festival.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it makes it possible for the independent musician to get his art out in to the publics hands. Much like other genres of music took advantage of the technology and put out CD's independently, so to can Blues, Rock, Folk, Country and pretty much any kind of artist can make an mp3 on their computer, or use more sophisticated means, and upload their mp3's to the internet on sites like soundclick.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Twist my arm.....
Band History:
My playing history is quite extensive. I've played in Juneau, Alaska bars in 1984 when I was 17... and I played at the Yakima Folk life Festival in 2007 at 42.

I've played a whole bunch of other places in between... and as soon as I take on the task of chronicling it, I'll paste it in here!
Your influences?
I am influenced by the greats of the Mississippi Delta, the inovaters of electric blues in the 40's, 50's and 60's in Chicago, the Austin scene in the 70's, 80's and 90's and life in the new century.
Favorite spot?
Centre ice about twelve rows up is good...
Equipment used:
I use a Johnson wooden body resonator with a KK sound pickup for my delta/slide playing and I run it through a brown face Fender vibroverb. For electric playing, I use the same amp but I run that out to a Fender/CBS vibrotone (Leslie speaker). For guitars I use two Gibson's, a Les Paul Gold Top w/humbuckers and a Les Paul Pro w/P-90's. I also use a Fender Telecaster with a maple board and a Tele copy with a rosewood board. I use an Ernie Ball Volume pedal and an Ibanez tube screamer for effects.
Anything else...?
Poutine Recipe

* 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
* 1 (10.25 ounce) can beef gravy
* 5 medium potatoes, cut into fries
* 2 cups cheese curds

DIRECTIONS:

* Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep heavy skillet to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). While the oil is heating, you can begin to warm your gravy.
* Place the fries into the hot oil, and cook until light brown, about 5 minutes. Make the fries in batches if necessary to allow them room to move a little in the oil. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain.
* Place the fries on a serving platter, and sprinkle the cheese over them. Ladle gravy over the fries and cheese, and serve immediately.
