(pronounced EYEDOLLINS) Karen Smalley-Turner and Claudine West met while playing acoustic music at an 'open mic night' in Nottingham. Then life, death and fate, took its course.. The creation of acoustic, folk, pop female duo. The Idolins. Karen the principle songwriter, vocalist and guitarist. Claudine a multi-instrumentalist. Both women produce and perform the songs in a relaxed environment, where ideas are explored and laughter is adored. That’s when the magic comes. The combination of a great friendship, acoustic beauty in music, story telling and hypnotic energy, creative freedom, honesty, with an underground that echoes pop. Makes this emerging recorded act a vital vibration for your soul and makes a great live act worth watching.

A boyfriend at school taught her how to play a few chords on the acoustic guitar when she was 13 and went on from there.He got karen into folk music as his dad was a folk singer. Karen has been writing and singing since...
Claudine-
From art and music background on fathers side of the family.
Began drumming (Encouraged by music teacher Simon Davie) in Jazz, Rock and Blues bands at school (from 13).
Self taught guitar, bass and piano. Played drums in rock bands after leaving school. Played acoustic guitar in 'acoustic/folk' bands. Met Grimm-lead guitarist and worked for 10 years writing and recording in home studio and playing live mic nights.
Took time out after his tragic suicide. (both had worked and been friends with him)
Both Karen and Claudine have been recording for years together and there is a lot more to come.
