I would like to bring to the hip-hop/rap game--a new flava! My style IS VERSATILE, however, I am mainly a "lyricist" 4-life. Why this name?
My Name was created by my profession at the time I got it. "The Candy Lady"--I sold candy in the projects in my hometown for several years and the kidz love me! It was like--EVERYWHERE I went, all you'd hear was "Hey-Candy Lady" or "Hey Candy", or "What'z up...Lady?" So I was already know for the "Sweetz", then folkz found out the secret I was holdin' back about my rhyme skillz. Then, I became the "Rappin' Candy Lady"!
Do you play live?
I perform live, yes. Don't play any instruments well...except the drums! I will perform where "ever" requested as long as transportation, food, and lodging is included! "Off Top!"
I LOVE PERFORMING! Nothing is like the adrenalin rush you get when you're on stage runnin the show! Sometimes...I feel like the Pied Piper!

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
mp3 has significantly inhanced the music industry by means of making a much faster, delivery of quality sounding music. It's made ACCESSIBILITY an issue of the past! It's purchase power has made a lot of "enhancement" to the income streams as well. Labels are making TONS of money, VERY quickly while the artist still only gets a measly percentage.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes! Because No Matter HOW MUCH money the label makes--everyone involved has to be paid. ARTISTS DO DESERVE A HIGHER PERCENTAGE, though.
Because when it's all said and done--The Label makes NO money without good artists! Everyone works for the ARTIST in a sense! The revenue created by the ARTIST pays everyone, right?

I am now a Solo Artist...however,
It all started when I was a little girl...Instruments all around me. Being raised in a Christian church, singing in the choir for years, from childhood to adulthood. Performing in school plays, and musicals etc. Then on to Middle school, school events, talent shows, I was dancing then! From dancing, to a singing group, to a rap career. Now, Here I am--Still striving to let my light shine!

I like James Brown, Chuck Berry (cuz he put on a show) Not into the drug use, however, but I love to put on a good show!

I want my fans to enjoy the "Show"--That's how us artists get paid primarily, so we need to be sure that our fans get their money's worth in a "perfect presentation" of the material.
I'm big on "Crowd Participation", I feel that the show is all about the fans!

"A-T-L" Shawty! Never been there but heard a lot about the opportunities available for African Americans (which I AM). I Need a Better Life...(smile)!

Cordless Mic, and speaker system, and a simple CD player is All I need! Of course i'll need a power source, and some connector cables--ya-know....

I play a little keyboard, and make beatz for myself, on computer using Acid, and FruityLoops, Don't really USE anything per say.
