Why this name?
The book Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, and the movie of the same name Directed by David Fincher.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live shows. Mainly in the Bloomington/Normal Area in Illinois, but we are starting to expand to Chicago Suburbs, Urbana/Champaign, Odell. We love playing live shows and if anyone would like us to play anywhere we totally would. a special moment for us was winning the 2007 Bloomington Parks & Rec Battle of the Bands, and being featured on the 96.7 I-Rock Local Music Showcase.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It definetely helps spread the word about music faster. There is obviously alot of illegal copying, but the important thing is that the music is being heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Would a major label sign a record contract with us?
Band History:
The Arson Committee was founded in 2004 by drummer Scott Blair (Scotty B) and guitarist Tim Nash (Wonderbread, Fat Camp). Creating crappy demos in Tim's basement, they realized that they might need some other members to round out their lineup. So in came Vocalist/Guitarist Nick Hutchins (Hutch), and bassist Alex Auer (Honkey). They have one demo release thus far and are currently preparing to go into the studio.
Your influences?
Our biggest influences are in the Alt/Punk Genre such as: Unwritten Law, Rise Against, blink-182, The Offspring, Alkaline Trio and Green Day.
Some Ska Bands: Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, Operation Ivy, Catch-22
