Ric Bowers is an independent artist with a split career of stage and studio. His music styles range from hard rock and blues to soothing soundscapes. As a singer, just a blues howler, as a guitarist, heavy on phrasing.
First bands: Blues Tone, Rush, Cold Duck, Paul T. Morris and the PM band. First recording on a Magnavox 2 track with Sound-On-Sound.
Live performance venues include: Symphony Hall, arenas, local dives, and even the back of a hay wagon.
Special moments happen when playing with a tight band and everyone is in the groove.
In addition to the greats; Eric, Jimi, Carlos, add Jeff Beck, Robin Ford, Tommy Tedesco, Joe Satriani, Larry Carlton, Greg Alman, Alvin Lee, Mark Farner, then Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuell, and Irvin Dugan (who knows cool).
1972 Fender Stratocaster, Precision bass, Rivera and Fender amps, Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Alesis, Line 6, Reason, and Pro Audio.
Listening to a tune is like having a visitor. Sometimes they knock politely on your door, ask to come in, show you what they offer, give you time to reflect, and make a graceful exit. Other times, they announce by breaking down your door, swing you around the room, and say, "I gotta split.", then leave. Sometimes you just need a boost.
