1/3 of the group Misen Lync, Toine Jay (Antoine Joyner) brings you back to the basics of hip hop with his furiously poetic style of rhyming. Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI Toine made his rap debut while still in high school performing poetry sets. It was that poetic finesse that led him onto the hip hop scene. Toine emanates a certain flair of nonchalance on the mic but is completely passionate about his craft. His humbleness and dedication towards attaining his goal is commendable! He will not be deterred, and his suave style exemplifies that. His smooth flow stimulates the ladies while giving the fellas something to nod their heads to. The verbal illustration that he bestows upon his audience is awe-inspiring. Not only will you take notice of his lyrics, you will find yourself inside them, envisioning what he sees, aware of what he is feeling. Toine Jay undeniably is a force to be reckoned with in the rap culture today. Take heed my friends Toine Jay is on the scene - making his rise to the top! Toine Jay / Misen Lync: It is wut it is! Why this name?
Everything I talk about is what I've lived so I chose to use my real name Toine and just just spelled out my last name initial. I thought it was pretty dope.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives you a chance to let the entire world hear your talent. Even though a lot of artists are losing out when it comes to sales, its still a way to promote yourself. And if you're wise you'll sale your Mp3's ( that is if you wanna make money from it) otherwise don't put out to much of your work that way, if people realy are feeling your music they'll have to purchase it directly from you.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
More than likely not. Due to the simple fact that me as an artist, who has done mad research on the industry, has come to the realization that the only ones who are eating off of the spins and promos is the company and not the artist.
