Helsinki Sunset is the solo project of 23 year old Rain Nine, singer-songwriter that currently resides in the Bay Area, California.
Why this name?
You figure it out. The name choice was heavily influenced by insomnia and one too many cups of coffee.
Do you play live?
Live shows have taken place in several occasions around Hawaii.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives us better access to music that is less commercial and mainstream, which in often cases means that the music itself is actually better.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I would rather sign with Matador or one of the bigger smaller labels, if you know what I mean.
Band History:
It has all just begun.
Your influences?
PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Smiths. More recent influences include Sleater Kinney, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Rebel Motrcycle Club, etc. I don't sound like any of them, though.
