THE NEW BEGINNING.........
Why this name?
I was standing on a toilet seat hanging a clock upside down....I slipped, banged my head and then came up with the name that makes time travel possible...the flux capacitor better known as prophecy
Do you play live?
I rock shows with my partner from Demagen Maybe Waston in clubs across Canada.....Comming to your city soon! shared stages with the likes of Shades of Culture, Josh Martinez, Moka Only, Eyedea, Pigeon John etc.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Renders it difficult for us to get paid for our craft. Of course it's all about the love but we do need to generate some form of revenue in order to continue making music. It has also made this industry more accessible which is a good thing as well as bad at the same time. It gets the talent heard of course but it also opens the door to great number of untalented artists who flood the game making it more difficult to find the real cats.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sort of an incomplete question. Ultimately my answer would have to be yes but the deal would have to allow for my creative freedom as any artist would say.
Band History:
Been doin this thing for a minute now. Worked with different people along the way but am now working to develop myself as a solo artist. Keep an eye out for my crew Loes and Apok, Monk-e, Maybe Watson hittin a town near you.
Your influences?
damn too many. In hip-hop there are hundreds but mainly I would have to say, Freddie Foxx, Tribe Called Quest, Onyx, All Lyrics, Pharoahe Monch, and them Battle Axe cats man. People hate ya know but look what's been accomplished in the last 5 years. Nobody in hip-hop can say that they built something so huge as Mad Child did without the support from large corporations. sh*** aint all about open shirts and head banging.
Favorite spot?
Montreal but then again I haven't visited everywhere yet.
Anything else...?
People associate "underground" with a particular style of hip-hop. This couldn't be further from the truth. An underground artist is simply an independant cat who is not signed to any major label and does not sell a substantial number of records. One can not be pigeon-holed as underground because he holds a particular style. The same goes for mainstream artists. What's common in the underground now may be the mainstream of tommorow. People should feel free to make the music they want to make without being labled as something giving them a title they may not deserve. It really is about being true about what you're doing and keeping substance in your music.
